This site will give the history of my fight with SunTrust Mortgage. Predatory Lending is just originated by small brokers, but also by big regional banks. SunTrust closed a combo loan on 09/14/2006, about 5 months later they called and said there was an error with the (20% portion) loan and I had to refinance. Not wanting to refinance, I canceled the closing. They didn’t tell me what the error was.
They later called and said I HAD to refinance. I again told them I didn’t want to.They again said I had to refinance! I was scared to lose my home so I refinanced. I wen to the closing office alone and the only person there was their closing attorney.
I would later find out about Massachusetts High Cost Home Loans and The Predatory Lending Act. They violated Massachusetts General Laws 183c. Among others! Instead of doing the right thing they decided to cover it up! More details to follow.
My new Husband will also be helping me with updates. We have been learning a lot, and hope that we perhaps can help others.
